Sywell Aviation Museum grand re-opening
29th March 2015
Spring has sprung and it is time once again to announce the Sywell Aviation Museum Grand Opening which takes place on Easter Saturday, 4th April 2015 from 10.30hrs-16.30hrs.
This year sees the unveiling of a Roll of Honour commemorating those who lost their lives flying from Sywell and Denton Aerodromes, 1939-1945. There will be a special service to unveil the plaque which will later go on display in the Museum, forever remembering the 25 young men who perished over the skies of Northamptonshire during WW2.
There will be a terrific display of re-enactors and military vehicles and the event co-incides with The inaugural Radial-Engined Aircraft Fly In, taking place at the airfield that day when it is hoped some very exciting machines may attend*
The traditional event marks the beginning of the Museum's 14th year of opening and is already a firm favourite with our regular visitors. This is a free event (donations welcome) so come and bring the family! Free parking (strictly limited so get there early and please, please, car share!), aircraft viewing area, on site bar, cafe, restaurant and hotel.
The Museum is thereafter open every weekend and Bank Holiday between 1030-1630hrs. Group visit bookings are now being taken. Unbuilt model kits, military and aviation books, mannequins and artefacts always sought!
