March for Honour

9th November 2010

Sywell Aviation Museum was proud to host the RAF team participating in the Royal British Legion's March for Honour on the 5th November 2010. Four teams from the Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force left their respective bases to march to Wootton Bassett and thereafter to The Festival of Remembrance at The Royal Albert Hall on Remembrance Sunday. The teams are marching to raise a million pounds towards the RBF's funds and each mile the teams march is in memory of a British serviceman who has lost their lives in Afghanistan and Iraq since 2001.

The Museum opened especially for the event, at which the Worshipful Mayor of Wellingborough and the Mears Ashby Branch of the British Legion attended. We were able, thanks to Trustee Shirley Salter to lay on a magificent spread to keep the lads going.

We will remember them.
