Happy Birthday India November!

17th November 2007

November 2007 marks the 60th birthday of resident Miles Messenger G-AKIN which has been based at Sywell since 1952.

The first entry in G-AKIN's logbook is a ferry flight from her manufacturer to Leicester aerodrome on the 17th November 1947. It was not until 1949 however that the Spiller family acquired the aeroplane which has resided at the aerodrome for 55 years.

In 2002 she was gifted by Norman Spiller to the specially formed Sywell Messenger Trust who have operated her ever since. More details of the trust can be found here.
