Museum Opening 2007
13th March 2007The Museum will reopen on Easter Saturday - 7th April - at 10.30 for the 2007 season. Once again our friends from the Troops, Trucks and Stores Military Vehicle group will be in attendance in period uniform, bringing with them a selection of jeeps, trucks and even an M3 Armoured Half Track!
In the meantime Museum staff are putting the final touches to a completely revamped Museum - every display has been revised or replaced by new exhibits.
As a taster here are a couple of pictures of the new RAF at Sywell display and an 'in progress' shot of the new 'bomb alley' including bomb tractor, trolley, 2x 1000lb, 1x 1000lb TI and 1x 500lb bombs plus AIM-9 Sidewinder above.
For this year we have also installed a temporary exhibitions area. This year our new exhibition is entitled 'Wartime and Aviation Toys' A comprehensive display of bygone, toys, tinplate cars, clockwork trains, rubber powered aeroplanes and the like will be on show, covering a wide period from c.1920 to c.1950 - something for the whole family to see!
We look forward to seeing you at the Museum opening - if you have not seen the museum before, come along - it's free to look round! If you have supported us in the past - come again! We guarantee that there are many new things to see!
After opening we will then be open every Saturday, Sunday and bank holiday until the end of September - though group visits can be booked outside those times - please contact us for details.
