Sywell Aviation Museum wins further accolades!
11th July 2012
We're proud to report that the Museum has been awarded 'Highly Commended' (for our brand new American Hall) in the Best Special Project category at The Northamptonshire Heritage Awards. The awards took place at The Icon Centre, Daventry on the 5th July 2012 and were hosted by HRH Duke of Gloucester.
This is the second year running that the Museum has been Highly Commended - last year for the Paul Morgan Hall. The Museum was pipped at the post to the main award by the National Trust, who are rather bigger and definitely better funded than we are! It was a real honour to be nominated, never mind win, an award in such illustrious company!
The Museum has now received the following awards:
- Best Exhibition - A Wartime Kitchen - Rennaissance Heritage Awards 2007
- Museum of the Year - Rennaissance Heritage Awards 2007
- Highly Commended - Best Special Project - The Paul Morgan Hall - Northamptonshire Heritage Awards 2011
- Highly Commended - Best Special Project - The American Hall - Northamptonshire Heritage Awards 2012
